Words that travel together
Two versions of the same message
Natural: I have booked the flights and paid a deposit on the room. We land at half past six and there is a transfer to the hotel. If the flight is delayed we can still check in until midnight. I have not booked the return yet because the fares keep changing.
Word-for-word: I have marked the flights and paid a signal on the room. We arrive at half past six and there is a transfer for the hotel. If the flight has delay we can still make the check-in until midnight. I have not marked the return yet because the prices stay changing.
Every word in the second version exists in English. Answer from the comparison.
1. English says book a flight. Why not mark?
2. What is wrong with a signal?
3. And the flight has delay?
4. Why do these matter more than a grammar mistake?

- What has changed, and what it means for the hotel.
- What you intend to do about it — going to.
- What you decide together, live — will and Shall I…?
Two decisions.
1. The plane is leaving three hours late. Which?
2. You want your money back. Which?
